Reorganization of Latin American Association Of Physiological Sciences (ALACF)

We are pleased to announce the re-organization of the Latin American Association of Physiological Sciences.

The first president of the reorganized Society, Prof. Luis Sobrevia is a Professor of Molecular Physiology, Director of the Cellular and Molecular Physiology Laboratory (CMPL) from the Department of Obstetrics, Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Honorary Professor UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR), Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Queensland, Australia, and Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universidad de Sevilla, Spain.

The General Secretary, Prof. Ernesto Alejandro Aiello, is Professor of Physiology and Biophysics at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, National University of La Plata, Argentina, Vice-Director of the Cardiovascular Research Centre of La Plata, and Principal Researcher at the National Research Council in Argentina..

The ALACF Council is made up of the physiological societies from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

When Dr. Sobrevía rose to the position, he said “Our main goal is to enhance the development of Physiological Sciences in Latin American… We will work to offer like opportunities to all physiological researchers in Latin American Countries”.

These concepts emphasize the main objective of ALACF reorganization, i.e. To joint efforts for the progress of Latin American Science.
