Support for Events
Policy of IUPS Support for Events and Required Information for Support Requests
One of the important missions of IUPS is the global promotion of physiological sciences. To this end, IUPS strives to support various activities in research and education.
[1] Priorities for Support
Given the limited budget, it is necessary to establish priorities for support.
(1) IUPS will prioritize support for regional activities organized by multiple physiological societies (PSs). Annual meetings of a single PS will be given lower priority, except on special occasions such as significant anniversary events. While we recognize the importance of these activities, we regret that we are unable to support all of them.
(2) IUPS places particular emphasis on supporting activities that benefit early-career researchers (ECRs).
[2] Required Information for Support Requests
(1) Support requests should include the following information:
• Title of the event
• Name of the associated meeting (if applicable)
• Date and venue
• Hosting organization
• Name of the representative, along with contact details
• Description of the program
• Estimated number of participants
• Details of the budget plan
• Amount of support requested
• Detailed plan for the use of the requested funds
• Any special reasons for requesting IUPS support
(2) We kindly ask that support requests be submitted by representatives of the Physiological Society of the event at least three months in advance. Earlier submissions are welcome.
(3) Please submit your request to Ms. Laura Davies (IUPS administrative staff).
Email: laura.davies(at mark)iups.org
(4) If the event is related to educational activities, it will be forwarded to the IUPS Education Committee for discussion regarding its suitability, priority, and approval. The final decision will be made by the Executive Committee.
