IUPS has been asked to show support for a student-led physiology conference in October in Lahore, Pakistan with around 300 medical and dental trainees participating.
The conference had two parallel streams. One was a regular scientific stream, the second one a Physiology Quest –a spin off from the ever popular, Malaysian-initiated Physiology Quiz. Teams of students from across the country took part in six quests, which included debates, knowledge tests, physiological poetry and a treasure hunt across the campus based loosely on physiological clues.
The support of IUPS and presence of Prof. Wray, the IUPS Past President were highly appreciated. She was told by the members the student committee (which had organised the meeting) that the support by IUPS had transformed how they viewed their conference and how they were able to market it throughout the country. She also was impressed by the engaging, energetic and welcoming atmosphere. Congratulations!
