The Board of the General Assembly of IUPS commissioned this report under the leadership of Prof. Jayasree Sengupta and Susan M. Barman for assessing the global strength of physiology as a discipline.

This report includes five Chapters that highlights the responses from IUPS member societies and presents to the physiologists worldwide the various challenges that physiology as a discipline faces as it moves forward.
