As already announced the EASPS will held its first scientific meeting in Dar es Salaam later this year (Nov. 29- Dec.1st). This is a big move forward and we hope that the meeting will be well attended and serve as a crystallization event for the further development and promotion of our discipline in this part of Africa and beyond. IUPS is supporting EASPS. Representatives of EASPS and IUPS ExCo have recently met in a virtual meeting, discussing how IUPS could support the meeting and assist in improving the standing of physiology, development of curricula where needed, and provide teaching workshops as well as mentoring. IUPS representatives were invited to the advisory committee of the meeting which will give IUPS a further chance to get involved and to intensify relations with physiologists in East Africa
